Monkeys Just Flew Out Of My Ass

There is a though problem called the Million Monkey's Problem.

If you have an infinite number of monkeys and an infinite number of keyboards, will they eventually write Shakespeare?

So, a couple of computer guys, started thinking and programming a parallel process to figure out if it might really happen. The would breed thousands of generations of hypothetical monkeys a second and then choose which ones would be allow to perpetuate the species based solely on their ability to write Shakespeare.

Apparently, it takes about 80,000 generations of monkeys at thousands of monkey generations a second (there's 200 monkeys per generation) to get the opening line of Hamlet. So that's ~16,000,000 monkeys just to get this much text. As they say, that's a lot of monkeys.

If you wanna read all the technical stuff, you can find it here.

By the way, no monkeys were harmed in the experiment.

Cheer Like A Champion

Champion is defined as one who has beaten all other competitors. I like to think it goes one step farther. To me a champion is more than just a victor. champion should also set an example and always be gracious in both victory and defeat.

Cheer like a Champion. These words are printed above each entrance to the Oklahoma University football stadium seating area. After the way I have seen OU fans behave this past weekend, I must say I am a bit ashamed of my favorite college team. From the gloating over Oklahoma State University's Friday night loss which was all over Facebook, to all the trash talk from people out and about that evening. Perhaps I am asking to much from my champions.

The online whining from all the Sooner fans over there loss Saturday is even more disturbing. So much for being gracious in defeat. I didn't hear one bad thing from a single OSU fan, which I am except when they are playing OU). All I heard from them was “Well, we will try again next year.” Far more gracious if you asked me. No trash talking and support for their team at the same time.

Top Chef, Episode 1

I finally finished watching the first episode this season's Top Chef. This year in Texas has a lot of promise! I like how they started with 29 contestants and someone of them went home right off the bat! The least of which was Tyler Stone!

It's way to early to make predictions at this point.

Emeril bugs me a little bit, but what the Hell....

I don't have a ton to say about it at this stage. Anyway, all I can really say is I'm looking forward to next week's show....

Thunder doesn't roll....

Last night was to have been to opening game of the Thunder. OKC's NBA team. Unfortunately due to failed negotiations between the owners and the players, there are not round ball games.
Not only am I sad for me, as I've become a fairly avid BB fan, I am equally if not more said for all the lost income for people and businesses in Bricktown. On average almost 14,500 people attend a Thunder game. Not to include the people who go downtown just for the energy that surrounds a game. That's a lot of drinks and hot wings, etc.
Not playing has a significant economic impact on the area!
Come one players and owners, let's get it together and play ball!
Thoughts?
